The foot is an elaborate arrangement of 26 small bones and 33 joints, layered with tendons, ligaments and muscles to facilitate movement of the foot. When the bones of the foot become misaligned due to injury or overuse, nerves become irritated and connective tissue becomes inflamed, causing pain to the foot and surrounding areas.

Foot pain is often caused by improper and poor alignment of the bone structure. What can cause this? Often times it is due to shoes which are improperly fitted, which cause foot problems.  A shoe which fits properly and gives support to the foot and arch reduces the chance for injury.

Other common causes include:

• Plantar fasciitis

• Tendonitis

• Arthritis

• Sprains and muscle strains

 

We will help you diagnose and pinpoint the exact location and cause of pain with the help of x-rays and examinations.  Through manually adjusting and manipulating the bones of the foot, we can reduce tension on the muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves which cause the pain.  Bringing the bones and joints into alignment reduces inflammation and helps the body heal naturally, speeding the time for recovery and allowing you to return to normal daily activities sooner than without the adjustments.
